Police were forced to intervene between warring nudists during a stoush at a clothing-optional resort in north Queensland. A tourist claims he was evicted from the adults only The White Cockatoo resort in Mossman, near Port Douglas, after he refused to bare all in front of three women. John Harrison and his wife, Lyn, had their stay cut short after resort owner Tony Fox accused the couple of being "disrespectful" to other guests because Mr Harrison chose not to get naked ahead of a dinner date.

The White Cockatoo resort, near Port Douglas in Queensland, promoted as Australia's premiere nudist resort, is up for sale. The controversial far north Queensland resort hit international headlines last year when The Courier-Mail revealed one tourist refused to take his clothes off at a swinger sex party, sparking a "mini-riot". White Cockatoo Owners Tony and Lenore Fox said the sex tourist business was booming despite tough economic times and flagging tourism figures. It is claimed to be Australia's only fully licensed, government approved, and registered swinger resort. Swinging, also known as "wife-swapping" or "temporary spouse-trading", is reportedly a sexual lifestyle with as many as swinger clubs worldwide.

I share Mr Parkyns concerns but with respect I think he is trying to hit the wrong ball and in doing so has made matters worse. Its website makes it clear that it is a commercial resort catering to three distinct markets, nudist, family and adults only, which is an interesting business model but a potential source of great embarrassment should you get your dates mixed up! In fact the only people calling the White Cockatoo a nudist resort are the press, and, inadvertently by implication, Mr Parkyns.
Indeed the White Cockatoo proprietors need an awakening on how to treat patrons. As a female I was subjected to ongoing verbal abuse for no justifiable reason. Constant provocation by Tony Fox forced my stay at the Resort to be reduced by a few days.
